break

annie&carlotta is going on an indefinite break, we both feel like we have outgrown this little space and just don't have the time or motivation to blog at the moment. This said we also hope to be back again, sooner rather than later/never so maybe this break wont really be much of a break at all. lets hope for the best! thankyou for stopping by, we really appreciate all the kind words of support and encouragement you guys have given us.

black labyrinth

Alicia Gramsbergen
"Infliction explores the multitude of layers of anguish through the broken and distorted skeletal structure of the human body and fragments symbolising direct injury, while the manipulation of the sleeves signify and convey the emotions of restriction and despair, of being trapped, and of being caught up in the entanglement of suppressed and implicit memories that become a burden of the human mind, body and soul." If intuition serves me correctly I'd keep an eye on this rising designer, these pieces are wish-list worthy

make your mind spin

Its holiday break time and for me thats a paradoxical situation where I mostly waste my time by putting things off, and instead spending the time on more unimportant causes; visiting shops, going out each night and avoiding homework. I love it when your frame of mind at any point in time is encapsulated in a photographer's work. All of these capture so much and I am pleased to have stumbled across Eleanor Hardwick's photos, what talent here . hopefully you are also uplifted and asked to appreciate the intrigue behind these images, as I was

these images like memories

this movie made me believe there really was truth behind things imagined, beautiful dreams and happy endings. the imagery and beauty is instilled within me, like a dream or experience of my own. i really hope this film was a childhood adventure for many others, because to me it reads memory all over, hopefully its triggered some nostalgic wishes to live in the Indian nirvana which captivates you in this film, and if it wasnt present in your younger years, i still think your a better person for watching A Little Princess, so you must watch it!

ringwraiths ride in black

days spent retreating on the grass, sunny sundays are full of laughter, music and one endless picnic. the sun which was surprisingly present this weekend was a much appreciated bonus. with led zeppelin blaring there was a festival to be had in our backyard. hope everyones weekend was breezy and enjoyable Annie

the silver saxophones say i should refuse you

these images, that light and absurdity behind the strange telling and goings on. I love photos which dont appear to make any real sense or understanding, obviously then these oldies by Juergen Teller really appeal to me. I am deeply sorry for the hold up with my photos, Carlotta and I once again share an account and its all sorted, no more technicalities I promise

belle de jour

Belle de Jour has been playing on my mind ever since i heard Tim Banks of style.com say something along the lines of 'I couldn't help but think of you in Belle de Jour' to Catherine Deneuve in regards to the Balenciaga show. I think that there is something awefully chic about looking 'demure' lately, but I'm probably just giving myself an excuse for being boring.

mermaids wreathed with seaweed

they have become an object of much fascination for me, this animal defies beauty for some reason. the mystique of centaurs, unicorns and all of those magical beings which have for so long existed in my dreams are closer to reality, captured in these photos by Tim Flach

silver horses ran down moonbeams

Photobucket

These stills are from the amazing talent of Gen Kay, his short film April (here). One of my favourite songs coupled with great imagery, by one talented photographer. Its strange discovering this piece today, because my friends are going to see this song played live tonight, peculiarly coincidental maybe? anyway i think its a nice piece of filming

on the pinnacle of everything

really inspired by these strange mountains, by Andre Piguet- I've always said there is no shape more interesting than the triangle. wow things have been hectic over the past couple of weeks settling into a new place can be so draining but its also such a inspiring exerpience, i really think that you find out so much about yourself when you change your enviroment. hope everyone is having a great weekend,
bisous! carlotta

straight lines

spent four hours on tuesday drawing cubes, got shapes on my mind.

p.s when i said posting would be sporadic i hardly meant this sporadic. sorry about that, working on fixing it.

Alors l'amour c'est quoi ? ... Ta voix, tes yeux ... tes mains, tes lèvres

Your voice, your eyes...
...your hands, your lips...
Our silences, our words...
Light that goes...
...light that returns
A single smile between us both
In quest of knowledge...
...I watched night create day...
...while we seemed unchanged
O beloved of all, beloved of one alone...
...your mouth silently promised to be happy
Away, away, says hate; never, never, says love
A caress leads us from our childhood
Increasingly I see the human form...
...as a lover’s dialogue
The heart has but one mouth
Everything ordered by chance
All words without aforethought
Sentiments adrift
Men roam the city
A glance, a word
Because I love you
Everything moves
To live, only advance!
Aim straight for those you love
I went towards you, endlessly towards the light
If you smile, it is to enfold me all the better
The rays of your arms pierce the mist

wearing white wolves

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket
I have recently rediscovered the ease of a ready to wear and care free t-shirt. especially those which are worn in so well that they clinge to you comfortably. I remember the days I used to wear shirts like this one underneath dresses of lace and florals and checked patterns, not again. But I do long for the days of being a child and getting away with wearing whatever you thought looked good, even if it was ridiculous
